Privacy Policy for “Step Recall”

Last updated: April 3, 2026

This privacy policy explains how the app “Step Recall” (for iPhone and Apple Watch) handles your data. Our principle is simple: your dances and data belong to you and stay on your devices.

1. Data Collection and Local Storage

We do not collect, store, process, or sell any personal data. All content you create in “Step Recall” – including dance figures, descriptions, images, and videos – is stored entirely locally on your iPhone and Apple Watch. There are no external servers to which your dances are sent, and no hidden trackers.

2. Access to Camera and Photos

To add images and videos to your dances, the app requires access to your device's camera and photo library.

3. Synchronization between iPhone and Apple Watch

When data (such as dance figures or media) is synchronized between your iPhone and your Apple Watch, this generally happens directly (peer-to-peer) via Bluetooth or a local Wi-Fi connection. This transfer is encrypted and does not route through external servers as long as the devices are within range of each other.

4. Data Processing by Apple

The app is distributed via the Apple App Store. By default, Apple collects certain anonymized analytics and crash data when you download and use apps (provided you have explicitly consented to this in your iOS/watchOS settings). This data cannot be traced back to you personally and is only provided to us by Apple as general statistics to help fix bugs. Apple's privacy policy applies in this regard.
